Javier Ruán
Javier Ruán Jaimes (1940–2021) was a Mexican actor, screenwriter, educator, and voice actor with a career spanning more than five decades. Trained in philosophy, pedagogy, and dramatic arts at institutions including the INBA and the Escuela Normal Superior, Ruán combined intellectual rigor with a deep social sensibility.
He made his film debut in 1967 in Corona de Lágrimas (dir. Alejandro Galindo) and went on to appear in over forty films, earning an Ariel Award nomination for Best Support
Ruán received numerous honors for his artistic legacy, including the Medalla Virginia Fábregas and the Cabeza Olmeca, and was named Hijo Predilecto of Nahuatzen, Michoacán. His autobiographical book Los de adelante corren mucho… reflects his profound commitment to education, art, and social memory.
