Saverio Costanzo
Director and screenwriter. Son of the famous journalist and TV presenter Maurizio Costanzo, he graduated in Sociology of Communication at the Sapienza University of Rome. After various experiences as a radio host, author of screenplays for RAI TV series and the creation of some commercials, at the end of the 90s he went to New York, where he worked as an operator and assistant director, to then devote himself to the activity of documentary maker . In 2001 he founded, together with Mario Gianani,
the Offside production company which initially dedicated itself to the production of documentaries and historical programs for television and later to that of feature films including, in 2004, his first work, "Private". Successfully received by international critics, the film won several prizes including the Golden Leopard and the Ecumenical Jury Prize at the 2004 Locarno Film Festival, and to him, in 2005, the Silver Ribbon and the David di Donatello. as Best Emerging Director. In 2007 he is at the Berlin Film Festival with his second opera, "In memoria di me". In 2009 he acquired the rights to make the film adaptation of the best-seller, winner of the Strega 2008 prize, "The solitude of prime numbers" by Paolo Giordano.
